Question: YOu have DBT tagged on this post. Why? Are you dual-diagnosis? If so, how does that conflict with the 12-steps, if it does in your opinion?

Why not? Dialectal behavior therapy, atleast in my opinion, is for anyone who is trying to retrain there brain not solely for dual Dx. It hasn’t conflicted with my recovery. If anything Using DBT with AA has enhanced my recovery. It’s helped me better deal with my emotions and it’s helped my thought process.

Why not CBT instead? I have just know DBT to be used as a treatment for people with a more severe diagnosis such as borderline personality disorder and the such. Please do not take this as a criticism. I think any kind of retraining is excellent. I am just wondering why you went that route versus CBT.
